Paul Tudor Jones, a Hedge Fund pioneer, has expanded on why he has made an investment in Bitcoin.
One of the drivers for making the investment is the COVID-19 pandemic, or more accurately, the move towards increased digitisation because of the restricted movement of people.
“The digitisation of the world clearly benefits bitcoin,” says Paul Tudor Jones. “We are clearly digitising the global economies and bitcoin will be that much more accessible by that universe of people that could own it as a stored value.”
The investment that Jones has made is one he referrers to as tiny but 1%-2% of a USD 22 billion fund is not a trivial sum to most people. Research I did three years ago indicated that up to 5% allocated to Bitcoin for normal wealth strategies should enhance portfolio returns and lower portfolio risk.
