Asset monetisation does not equate to the situation whereby the monetiser is buying the asset, it simply means the monetiser is monetising the asset by way of offering a loan, a line of credit to the asset owner. The line of credit offered is secured against the asset to be used. The amount of loan offered will depend on the asset and can be between 20% loan to value to 100% loan to value. It is important to be aware the monetiser doesn’t buy the asset, they simply offer a line of credit, and there will be conditions attached to the credit line offered. Many assets owners, be it private or company owned, are not even aware they can use their asset to open up a line of credit. Normally the monetiser of the asset will only monetise the asset if the line of credit offered, is taken to trade with a private placement platform introduced by the monetiser.
