Asset monetisation does not equate to the situation whereby the monetiser is buying the asset, it simply means the monetiser is monetising the asset by way of offering a loan, a line of credit to the asset owner. The line of credit offered is secured against the asset to be used. The amount of loan offered will depend on the asset and can be between 20% loan to value to 100% loan to value. It is key to be aware the monetiser doesn’t buy the asset, they present a line of credit, and there will be terms and conditions attached to the credit line offered.
