Asset monetisation doesn’t mean the monetiser is buying the asset, it very simply means the monetiser is monetising the asset by way of offering a loan, a line of credit to the asset owner. The loan offered is secured against the asset to be used. The amount of loan offered will depend on the asset and can range between 20% loan to value to 100% loan to value. It is key to understand the monetiser doesn’t buy the asset, they present a line of credit, and there will be conditions attached to the credit line offered.
